What is blocked on your network

Sometimes it is unclear what broke: the internet, the app, or someone blocking it. This tool walks through popular services in a few seconds and shows which ones do not answer on your connection.

Ready to test

Press “Test the network”, it takes a few seconds.

The test runs from your browser straight to those services: we see neither the result nor your IP. The method is approximate, a service may stay silent for its own reasons, so read the result as “looks unavailable”.

How it works

Your browser tries to load one small file from each service, the tab icon. An answer within six seconds means the domain is reachable; silence means it probably is not. Every request leaves your device directly; we neither see nor store them.

Why the result is approximate

The icon may stay silent because of an outage on the service side, a blocker extension or a corporate proxy. If the tool says blocked but the site opens by hand, trust your eyes. For a definite answer, compare: turn the VPN on and test again.

A service will not open?

404 VPN carries traffic through an encrypted tunnel and looks like ordinary HTTPS to the network: blocked sites and apps start working the way they do at home.

Frequently asked questions

guest@404vpn:~$ cat blocked-services-test-faq.md
[01] $ Does the tool send anything to your server? ▸
> No. Requests go from your browser straight to the services, and the result stays on your screen. We receive neither the list nor your IP.
[02] $ Why is a working service marked as blocked? ▸
> The test only looks at one small file from the domain. A blocker extension, a corporate proxy or an outage can withhold it. This is an estimate, not a verdict.
[03] $ How do I know blocking is to blame? ▸
> Test twice: first without the VPN, then with it. If everything opens with the VPN on and fails without it, the block is on the network or ISP side.
[04] $ Does it work on mobile data? ▸
> Yes, and it is worth doing: carriers and Wi-Fi networks block different things. Compare the result on mobile data and on Wi-Fi.
